Subject: My daughter Lauren is reading a book on our favorite beach, which we visited for a weekend every year while she was working in the Washington, DC area. I started painting this on location and then finished the painting in the studio from a series of photographs I took. There is plenty of texture in the painting because of the amount of sand that was blowing into the paint and water as I worked on the painting. |
