Location: Sourland Mountain Preserve (Hillsborough, NJ)

Subject: This painting is one of three focusing on the Sourland Preserve, a local hiking area which my husband and I frequently visit. I have a tremendous fascination and love for the ancient rocks and boulders found on top of the Sourland mountain. I painted the piece over several days on location and then completed the painting in the studio, from my photographs, once it was too cold.
